ROCKFORD, IL – At its recent board meeting, the Board of Directors of The Blazer Foundation approved grants totaling over $100,000.  Agencies that received grants at this grant cycle included:  Barbara Olson Center of Hope, Discovery Center, Goldie Floberg Center, and Milestone. 

Foundation Director Mark Blazer, son of the Foundation’s founder, Cedric Blazer stated, “We are happy to be able to carry out the mission of the Blazer Foundation, which is to improve the lives of individuals with mental or physical disabilities.  Local organizations are working hard to help the community and those in it to reach their fullest potential, and that is something we strongly support. Thank you to all local organizations who are committed to helping support people with disabilities.”

The Blazer Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation established by Cedric Blazer in 1986.  Its mission is to support local initiatives in research and development as well as programs designed to directly support those individuals with disabilities.
