ROCKFORD, IL – The Blazer Foundation held a meeting on June 1, 2021.  The board approved several grants at the meeting to local organizations whose initiatives primarily focus on individuals with disabilities, including Barbara Olson and Walter Lawson Children’s Home.  The grant award recipients have shown a great need, sound financial position and a desire to help carry out the mission of The Blazer Foundation which is to improve the lives of individuals with mental or physical disabilities.  The Blazer Foundation is proud of the work that these local organizations do and is honored to be able to help support them.

The application period for the next round of grants has started and grant applications will be due no later than September 28, 2021.  Applications are accepted through the Foundation’s website or can be emailed to the foundation at info@theblazerfoundation.org using our Word Doc application also found on the website.  The application as well as more information about The Blazer Foundation can be found on our website at theblazerfoundation.org.

The Blazer Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation established by Cedric Blazer in 1986.  Its mission is to support local initiatives in research and development as well as programs designed to directly support those individuals with disabilities.
