ROCKFORD, IL — At its recent board meeting, the Board of Directors of The Blazer Foundation approved grants totaling over $200,000.  Agencies that received grants at this grant cycle included: Fish-abled Foundation, Milestone, RAMP, Rockford Park District’s Therapeutic Recreation Program, Salvation Army, Special Olympics, and Walter Lawson’s Children’s Home. 

“The mission of the Blazer Foundation is to help improve the lives of those in our community living with a mental or physical disability.  We are proud to support the outstanding work of several local organizations who help to serve those individuals,” stated Mark Blazer, son of the Foundation’s founder, Cedric Blazer.

The Blazer Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation established by Cedric Blazer in 1986.  Its mission is to support local initiatives in research and development as well as programs designed to directly support those individuals with disabilities.
